January 28, 2016 at 8:33 amCondolences to the family, may God comfort you during this time. I was a high school class mate of Mr. Jim. Enjoyed going to HS with him, as well as living out youth days in Sparta. He was a fun and enjoyable person to be around. I last saw him at our 50th HS reunion last Sept. 2015 and we shared a great visit. Sorry I will not be able to make the memorial.
God bless.

January 29, 2016 at 6:50 amA special guy. Tried to see him when in town. Had breakfast at his favorite spot in Springfield last time I saw him. I was headed for Sparta and noticed him mowing his yard at place off 14. Made a u-turn and drove up his drive to the house. He was glad to see me and I him. Met later for breakfast in Springfield. Great visit. I grew up at Sparta and my dad Lester and I would hang out around the stove at Skelly Gas station in Sparta with E.W., Jimmy Gene and Jimmy Gene’s grandpa. Back in the day when gas was 19 cents a gallon. My families condolences. I will miss him.

January 29, 2016 at 3:06 pmWe are so very sorry for your loss.
Jim was our salesman for many years and Friday was his day to come by. He was kind, always shared his tomatoes, turnips and bits of wisdom and he will be missed.
Take care of each other
