Sondra Sue Phinney, age 83 of Sparta, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home, October 5, 2024, surrounded by her three children, after a battle with health issues.
Sondra was born April 27, 1941, the daughter of Glen and Mary Davidson in McCune, Kansas. After moving to Springfield, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Phinney, May 27, 1966. They were blessed with three children: Kristen, Kurtis and Kimra. Sondra loved her family and cared for her three children until her last moments on earth.
Sondra enjoyed working in the garden, painting and quilting, and was a devout Christian and longtime member of the Church of Christ in Oldfield, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her father Glen Davidson, her mother Mary Boor Davidson and husband Kenneth Phinney. Sondra is survived by her brother Ron Davidson and wife Janet, her children, daughter Kristen Johnson and husband Chris, son and best friend Kurtis Phinney and daughter Kimra Dupler and husband David. Three grandchildren Karlie Johnson, Justin Holt and Kelsey Hicks. And five great-grandchildren. A prearrangement was made by Sondra prior to her time of her death that will be carried out by her three children in a private cremation ceremony. Sondra will be laid to rest beside her husband Kenneth in Sparta Cemetery, Friday October 11, 2024, time will be determined later.
