Mildred A. Compton August 14, 1926 - February 25, 2019

Mildred Agnes Compton, age 92, fondly known as “Pudgie” by her family, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, February 25, 2019.  She was born August 14, 1926 to Harry and Margaret (Kreiling) Lowers in Wishik, North Dakota. On April 8, 1951, she was united in marriage to Asberry “Red” Compton in Ft. Morgan, Colorado.  In 1959, they moved to Versailles, Missouri to pursue their dream of owning a ranch.

Mildred was a life-long Presbyterian who was active in her churches.  She loved spending time with her family, reading, playing bingo and running her used book store.  She was especially known for her wonderful pies.  Although she battled Alzheimers for the past several years, she still enjoyed being with her family and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Mildred is survived by three children, Barbara Woolery and husband Galen of Nixa, Missouri, Steve Compton of Versailles, Missouri and Debra Silvey and husband Phil of Ozark, Missouri; four grandchildren, Lt. Jason Woolery (US Navy) and wife Sarah of Springfield, Missouri, Brooke Silvey of Kansas City, Missouri, Jeremy Woolery and wife Kim of Kansas City, Missouri and Patrick Silvey and wife Katie of Des Moines, Iowa; six great-grandchildren, Lydia, Luke, Levi, Ivy, Miles and Pete.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven siblings, one granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Ozark Presbyterian Church with Pastor Phyllis Winzenried officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the church. Arrangements under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
