Bobbie Calvin Rains, age 88 of Sparta, Missouri passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. He was born at Bar-K-Ranch, Garrison, Missouri, on July 10, 1935, to his parents Herb and Lena ( Mitchell) Rains. On December 20, 1958, Bob as he was fondly known, was united in marriage to Louella Barr.
Bob proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and later received an honorable discharge. Bob enjoyed the rural life and was a lifelong member of Garrison Baptist Church.
Bob is survived by his wife, Louella with whom he would have celebrated 66 years of marriage in December 2024. He is also survived by his son Danny Rains and wife Anita; daughter-in-law Sharon Rains; four grandchildren Danny Jo Rains and wife Melissa, Chase Rains, Cody Rains and wife Megan, Dustin Rains and wife Lyndzey; eleven great-grandchildren Kimber, Austin, Layne, Claire, Pistol, Punchy, Marshall, Sawyer, Jude, Farrah, and Sam; one great-great-granddaughter Aubrey. Bob is also survived by his brother Tony Rains and wife Tonya; a brother-in-law Bill Lassley, two sisters-in-law Jan Barr and Janie Ussary; other caring relatives and many friends. Bob was preceded in death by his son Tom Rains, his parents, two brothers-in-law Jim Barr and Bill Barr, two sisters-in-law Beulah Lassley and Annie Parker.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in the Garrison Baptist Church with Pastor Bally Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
