Cynthia Marie Growcock August 6, 1951 - September 27, 2024

Date of Funeral

October 20, 2024

Cynthia Marie Growcock of Ozark, Missouri passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024, with her loving family by her side at the age of 73.

Cynthia, or Cindy as she was known to her friends, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 6, 1951. The daughter of Jack Stouder and Margie Lee Miler, Cindy attended North High School in Omaha, Nebraska where she graduated in 1968 and then later served in the Army reserves as a medic for the next four years.

She was a devout Christian who served her church in a vast array of roles. Cindy was an incredibly selfless woman who cared about the needs of others over her own. This amazing trait was evidenced by her role as chapter coordinator for Case for Smiles where she distributed over 35,000 pillowcases to children in local hospitals over the years. Cindy was known for her love of sewing, crocheting, scrapbooking and her memorable craft days with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and had many friends that will remember her kindness, generosity, selflessness and love of crafts.

On November 1,1975 she was united in marriage to James “Jim” Growcock who survives her of the home. She is also survived by her five children, Michael (Stacey) Centarri Jr., Matthew (Jennifer) Growcock, Amanda (Eduard) Wilhelm, Ashlee (Bradley) Snider, and Allison Wilson as well as her fifteen grandchildren.

Cindy’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing as she will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.

Please join the family for her Celebration of Life and Legacy on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home in Ozark, Missouri. Online condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com.

My name is Vicki Jensen Freeman. I went to North High School with Cindy. We often ate lunch together in the cafeteria. She was truly one of the sweetest and kindest souls that I have ever known. She was always smiling! I also remember how she loved McDonald’s french fries! I will remember Cindy with great fondness. May she rest in peace. Fondly, Vicki
