Delwyn McClelland December 7, 1936 - April 17, 2018

Delwyn McClelland

Delwyn McClelland, age 81 of Nixa, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was born December 7, 1936 the son of Patrick and Veva (Warren) McClelland. On August 30, 1957 he was united in marriage to Shirley (Donnell) McClelland. This man was a tough act to follow and we are going to miss him dearly. Lynn left behind his wife Shirley that all through their marriage they only argued once and that argument lasted for sixty years, but together they created an unbreakable chain. He preceded his two children, a son Randy and a daughter Cheryl. Randy swears Cheryl was adopted and Cheryl thinks Randy is a few bricks short of a full load. Cheryl went and found herself a mouthy Puerto Rican by the name of Bengie to marry so Lynn had a bit of diversity added to his life. Lynn left behind three beautiful grandchildren the oldest Lindsey who suffers from a slight OCD problem and married a half mexican man named Taco; Shanon who we like to refer to her as the feisty one that believes in keeping it real. She too followed in her mother’s foot steps and married Mike who just happens to be black and white. I guess the ol’ apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Trevor ended up being the only grandson given to him by Randy. We won’t even go there. Trevor doesn’t say much and has always been referred to as “Poor little Trevor.” Lynn preceded two great grandchildren from Lindsey as well, Caiden whom believes “The Entertainer” is his middle name and Isabella that Lynn swore was the most beautiful little girl he had ever seen. He loved each and every one of his family members and bragged on them constantly. He has now moved on to enjoy a reunion with family and friends he hasn’t seen for a long time. One thing is guaranteed that once he enters through those pearly gates you will hear his laughter and see his smile for miles. God certainly blessed each and everyone of us on earth who were fortunate enough to know him and enjoy every minute of his life before taking him home. We love you dad and will miss you every day of our lives. Written by your favorite daughter, Nutty. Graveside funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Monday, April 23, 2018 at Manley Cemetery, Nixa, Missouri. Arrangements under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. After the service friends and family are invited to a gathering at Shirley’s home. Online condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com

Lynn or “Sunshine” as I called him, you will be missed by many. You were my mentor. I learned so much from you. You allowed me to marry your daughter which made me the luckiest man in the world. I love your daughter and I love you as my father in law but most of all my second dad. Those that never got to meet you missed out on meeting the funniest, happiest gentleman around. Till we meet again Sunshine.
