Donald Granville Riley was born on July 4, 1928 in Anadarko, Oklahoma.  He passed away in his Sherman, Texas home on January 4, 2025 at age 96.  He resided in Sherman, Texas for the last 12 years.

Don left Anadarko, Oklahoma and went to work for Boeing Aircraft Company on September 22, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas.  He met his loving wife Mary on July 4, 1957.  Don retired from Boeing after 36 years of employment.  In 1995 they moved to Missouri and resided until 2013 when they moved to Sherman, Texas, to be closer to family.

Don was a loving husband and father and an amazing grandfather and great- grandfather.  He enjoyed camping and fishing, traveling, playing Dominoes and Pitch.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ruby Lasley, his son Douglas Riley, two sisters Billie Jo and Winnifred and one brother Smiley.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary Riley; daughter Diana Hardesty and husband Gene;  granddaughter Tarah Mutchler; grandson Tucker Ford;  great- granddaughters Amelia O’Donnell and Maybel Mutchler all of Sherman, Texas;  granddaughter Michelle Raine and husband Derek;  great- grandchildren Leila Raine, Adrien Raine, Eli Raine and Emmy Raine all of Wichita, Kansas; nephew Tom Foster and wife Marcia of Colchester, Illinois, as well as more loving family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services for Don will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Chadwick Memorial Cemetery with  Buddy Dockum officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorial contributions to: The Way Community Church, PO Box 1271 in Ozark, MO  65721.

    Don was a wonderful friend to Gene and me! We traveled together, went camping together, went to church together and loved to eat out together! He was always happy and always a gentleman! I loved his sense of humor! He was just a great guy! Missing him already!
