Dora E. Woods September 12, 1933 - May 18, 2014

Dora Elizabeth (Meadows) Woods, age 80 of Ozark, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 in Springfield Rehab and Health Care Center. She was born September 12, 1933 in San Bernardino, California the daughter of Dollie (Whitmore) Meadows and Jesse Herbert Meadows. Dora was a longtime resident of Ava and Ozark Missouri for most of her adult life. She loved flowers, gardening and had a real passion for riding horses. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Ozark Utopia Club. Dora also loved her Simmental cattle, Missouri Fox Trotter ranch and working at the Ozark Mill. Dora is survived by her son Danny Woods and Kim of Hollister, two daughters Myra Ripple and Joe of Battlefield, Tina Horn and Bob of Springfield; the father of her children Dr. Taylor Woods of California, Missouri; a brother and a sister; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren other caring relatives and several good friends.Dora was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Tyra Dennison.Donations are requested in honor of Dora to University of Missouri Extension, Christian County 4-H, PO Box 160, Ozark, MO. Funeral services for Dora will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Gary Mitchener officiating. Burial will follow in Hopedale Cemetery.
