Dorothy Jean Cheek, age 79 and fondly known as “Jeannie” went to be with our Lord, Sunday, November 4, 2018 after being a resident for an extended time at Ozark Nursing and Care Center, Ozark Missouri. She was born February 9, 1939 the daughter of Herman Lee and Merle Agnes (Gardner) Wheat. Jeannie was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who treasured her time with family and friends and always placed the needs of others above her own. She was a devout Christian who loved gospel music and going to church.
Jeannie is lovingly survived by her family which includes a brother Jim Wheat and wife Barbara; a daughter Heather Bradford and husband Chris La Rose with grandchildren Tiffany, Christian, and Christopher; additional grandchildren Cody, Mckayla, and Kloey; numerous nieces, nephews, and other dear loved ones.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Patrick Cheek, brother Richard Wheat, infant granddaughter Cassandra Barnett, as well as her son James Barnett (July 10, 1972- December 25, 2008) who we will also share this remembrance.
Celebration of Life Services will be 7:00P.M. Thursday, November 8, 2018 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Chaplain Suzy Lynch officiating. In honoring Jeannie’s request her body has been cremated and she will be interred at Delaware Cemetery, Clever, Missouri.
