Earl Amos Coffer, age 90 of Ozark, Missouri passed away Sunday night, March 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chadwick, Missouri, June 13, 1933, to Arthur James Coffer and Flora (Pruitt) Coffer. On September 12, 1955, he was united in marriage to Pauline Gann, together they have celebrated 68 ½ years of marriage. To this union one son Michael Coffer was born, January of 1957.

In 1957 Earl started a 25-year career with C.A. Bissman Manufacturing, now Leggett & Platt, where he met his best friend, Ivan Holdren. Ivan became Plant Superintendent and Earl was assigned as Plant Manager. They discovered they both loved horseback riding, fishing and hunting. They spent many weekends enjoying these hobbies. Both families spent several weekends picnicking, enjoying the outdoors and lots of trips to Stockton Lake fishing for crappie and walleye.

In 1980, Earl and Mike bought a farm in Ozark, Missouri and started a Black Angus cattle operation where Earl enjoyed his love of cattle and the outdoors until his failing health forced him to retire in 2021. Later, his son Mike and grandson James continued the operation. He was a devoted husband, dad and papa to his son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Earl is survived by his wife Pauline; son Mike Coffer and wife Karen of Ozark, two grandchildren Melissa (Coffer) Curl and husband Gene of Joplin, James Coffer and wife Camie of Ozark, four great-grandchildren, Skye, Zayne, Carter and Lincoln; brother Dearl Coffer and wife Cathy; many nieces, nephews and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Flora Coffer.

Funeral services for Earl will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. The visitation will be Wednesday 1:00 P.M. until service time in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Old Boston Cemetery, Oldfield, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to Old Boston Cemetery or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

    Mike, Karen, and Family, We’re sorry to learn of your loss, but we celebrate Earl’s homegoing, where he is young and healthy again, and reunited with so many loved-ones.
