Georgia Lee Phillips, age 81 of Sparta, Missouri passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. Georgia was born August 11, 1935 in Oldfield, the daughter of George and Edna Hull. Georgia was united in marriage to Virgil Phillips and began their lives together in Kansas and shared many years of marriage. Georgia enjoyed being a homemaker with a love for gardening, canning, sewing and especially loved caring for her five children. Georgia and Virgil eventually moved back to Oldfield where Georgia worked as a tax accountant and a secretary for many years. After retirement, Georgia returned to her passion of reading, quilting and canning. Georgia made her five children, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends a handmade quilt. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Virgil, granddaughter Gina , great-granddaughter Brianna, her parents, a brother and two sisters. Georgia is lovingly survived by her sister Wilma Welch; five children, Eugene Phillips and wife Janet of Blue Eye, Patty Walker and husband Mike of Oldfield, David Phillips of Chadwick, Jim Phillips and wife Kitty of Oldfield, Kerry Morgan and husband Stanley of Sparta. Georgia’s grandchildren include Misti Clark, Bradley Walker, Anthony Phillips, Craig Phillips, Chad Phillips, Daphne Loveland, Jerry Pellham, Angie Cowels, Blake Coffer, Cody Phillips, Kendle Blacksher, Kayla Morgan, Brandon Phillips, Macy Franken, Stacy Phillips, Cassie Morgan, Aaron Phillips, Calvin Phillips, Jessica Phillips and Cole Morgan; and twenty nine-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Georgia will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in Barnes Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bally Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery, Long Lane, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, October 3, 2016 in the funeral home.
