Jonathan David Brown, age 60, of Ozark, MO passed away suddenly Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in his home. He was born November 20, 1955 in Oklahoma City, OK to Harold Brown and Gayle (Screws) Brown. He was united in marriage to Rachel (Britton) Brown on May 2, 1987 in Nashville, TN. Jonathan grew up in a musical family, and learned in his teen years about engineering in a recording studio . He was in a popular Christian band called Seth in Oklahoma before moving to Los Angeles to grow his gifts and talents working with Maranatha Music recording studio and ministries. He saw himself as a ‘minister to the ministers’ when producing and engineering for many Christian recording artists. He became a beloved and sought after producer, engineer and songwriter. He had many #1 songs and albums spanning his career. Jonathan also loved the land and dreamed of having a 19th century farm to then produce his own food and means of living. He moved to Ozark, MO in 1999 to seek those dreams and his spiritual convictions. He continued recording for local artists and custom projects from his home studio. Jonathan is survived by his wife of 29 years, Rachel (Britton) Brown and their children Jesse, Suzanna, Sharon, Judah, and Bretanya of Ozark MO; their adopted son Paul Brown of Oklahoma City OK; by his first wife Tammy Brown and their sons Nathan and Galen of Nashville TN; his mother Gayle (Screws) Brown of Choctaw OK; brothers Stephen and Joe; sister Becky Matinez and adopted sister Sarah and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Harold Brown of Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services for Jonathan will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Dogwood Church of Nazarene, Dogwood, Mo with Pastor Michael Peebles officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Sunday in the church. Burial will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 3 in Selmore Cemetery, Ozark, MO.
