Jean Pilger March 7, 1932 - November 7, 2017

Dorris Jean (Dyer) Pilger, 85, Ozark, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield. She was born March 7, 1932 in Hodgenville, Kentucky the daughter of Leonard and Lillian (Brooks) Dyer. On August 17, 1949 in Rock Island, Illinois Jean was united in marriage to Robert Pilger, together they celebrated the birth of three children and 65 years of marriage until his passing in 2014. Jean was fondly known for her free spirit who was always on the go. Meeting her friends for Silver Sneakers, participating in arts and crafts, and oil painting were a few of her hobbies. Jean loved being outdoors enjoying planting flowers and feeding hummingbirds. She was a member and enjoyed attending church at Cassidy United Methodist Church. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Robert Pilger. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Jean is survived by her son Glenn Pilger of Ozark; her daughter Diana Rumbold of Peoria, Illinois; her sister Geraldine Trevethan; all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be at noon, Monday, November 13, 2017 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Charlene Dart officiating.
