Jessie Lovane Hodges July 3, 1920 - September 1, 2015

Jessie Lovane Hodges, age 95 of Sparta, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Ozark Nursing and Care Facility. She was born July 3, 1920 in Christian Center, Missouri the daughter of Homer Wyatt Bilyeu and Jewel Ethel (Mapes) Bilyeu. On February 6, 1936 she was united in marriage to Robert Gerald Hodges who preceded her in death. Lovane was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed the rural farm life. She was a longtime and faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Sparta Garden Club and Tops Club 463. Lovane was blessed with a “green thumb” and loved tending her beautiful flower gardens. Her life and accomplishments will forever be a treasure and her family will always remember the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Lovane is survived by three children and their spouses, Marilyn and Roy Meadows, Geraldine and Truman Clonts, Harold and Janice Hodges; a brother Ron Bilyeu and wife Eldena; seven grandchildren Carmen May, David Hodges, Karen Wilson, Robert Hodges, LeaAnn Tennis, Jeremy Clonts and Jess Hodges; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews and other caring relatives. In addition to her husband, Lovane was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Thursday, September 3, 2015 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Lovane will be laid to rest beside her husband in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
