Joel Lee Lane, age 63 of Sparta, Missouri passed away early Sunday morning, August 3, 2014 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield. He was born May 16, 1951 in Greeley, Colorado the son of Martin and Erma (Hale) Lane. On January 18, 1991 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Wuestenberg. Joel is survived by his wife Kathleen; six children Kevin Walker and wife Kim of Ava, Penny Lane of Ozark, Michael Lane of Green River Wyoming, Joey Darlington of Ava, Marty Lane of Fordland, and Matt Lane of Sparta; two sisters Karen Lane of Rockaway Beach, Sharon Brunson and husband Allen of Commerce City, Colorado; three brothers Toby Lane, Lester Lane and Jr. Lane all of Ava. Joel is also survived by several grandchildren Larry Ray, Katelyn, Kayla, Chantelle Walker, Tristan Lane, Taylor Ridenour, Mia and Dylan Howard, Savannah Staton, Taylor, Stephen and Cody Wallace; four great-grandchildren Jensen, Winston, Kaden and Brooklyn. Joel is additionally survived by other caring relatives and several good friends. Joel was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Walter Lane. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield with Pastor Ron Wallace officiating.
