Joseph Gullett January 19, 1992 - March 20, 2019

Joseph “Bravehorse” Gullett was born January 19, 1992 in Springfield Missouri.   On Wednesday, March 20, 2019 Joseph began his journey.   Joseph was Native American Indian part Lakota Sioux and part Prairie Band of Potawattomi. He and his family walk the path of Lakota Oyate.  He was a Sundancer in the Lakota Sundance and completed his obligations on behalf of the his Tiospaye.   Joseph received honors including a warriors staff and eagle feathers as part of his walk on the Red Road.  Joseph was a keeper of the sacred Canunnpa, our tribal sacred pipe of prayer.   Joseph was a serious hard worker and was very good at completing a task ahead of schedule.  When assigned a task he was always the one that could be counted on to get it done.  He loved fishing with his brothers William and Eric.   Joseph was an excellent chef and loved cooking. Also, Joseph was a current student of Japanese martial arts with his father and sister Novella.  This stemming from a lifetime of loving to wrestle with his brothers and sisters.  He applied himself to children always caring and doing things to make sure the little ones were happy and well cared for.  He really loved kids.  His entire childhood he actively shared taking care of his little sisters Jennifer and Novella.  He was always loving and respectful to his parents and most anyone he may encounter.  He graduated High School and spent some time just living life and was preparing to enter trade school in the Fall.  Joseph is survived by his Grandparents Joseph and Karen Gullett, his parents Lisa and Steve Gullett, his older brother William Ogden Kerns, his little sisters Jennifer Gullett and Novella Yellowhand and his trusty dog friend Toyapi.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 with burial to follow in Chadwick Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday until service time in the funeral home.
