Kenneth Leo Rantz, age 90, formerly of Sparta, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in Ozark, Missouri. He was born October 14, 1933 in Reeds Spring, Missouri to DJ (Jake) and Myra (Jackson) Rantz. Kenneth was united in marriage to Faye Gideon on May 10, 1958.
Kenneth was always happy and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was known as the family jokester and never missed a chance to make someone laugh or to pull a trick on someone. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Kenneth never missed a chance to take his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids hunting and fishing. He would be more excited when one of them would get a deer than when he would get one of his own. If he was fishing he would help you as much as possible but do not mess with him if he had a fish on his line. After retiring from Fasco in Ozark, they moved to Kissee Mills and he was in his boat on the lake fishing almost every day. He was also an avid sports fan. Kenneth did not miss a chance to cheer for his kids and grandkids at their many sports and any other event they were involved in.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Faye, 5 children, Jim Rantz and friend Debby, Steve Rantz and wife Christine, Doyle Rantz, Deb Rantz, Linda Keeth and husband Les, 10 grandchildren, Daniel, Amy, Andrea, Amber, Alisha, Tyler, Colby, Bethany, Lindsey, Shelby, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother CC Rantz and sisters Geraldine Mitchell and Shirley Finney, a daughter-in-law Shelly Rantz and a granddaughter Ashleigh Rantz.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 6, 2024 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Sparta, Missouri.
