Kenny Allen Lietch, age 68, of Marshfield, Missouri was born October 17, 1955, to the late Charlie Lietch and Golda Chestene (Turner) Lietch and departed from this life Monday, September 2, 2024, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
On March 18, 1989, he was united in marriage to Michele Hopper, at Little Zion General Baptist Church in Denlow where their families were joined together – Brenda Wunder, Darin Lietch, and bonus daughter Ingrid McCallister.
Kenny was raised in Ava, Missouri and graduated from Ava High School. He grew up working with his father in carpentry where his love of woodworking began, making gun cabinets, mirrors, cabinets, and more. If he wasn’t working for a customer, he was making something for one of the girls. He took great pride in his work and his first paid carpentry job was making shutters on a home. He was a very meticulous craftsman, building and remodeling several homes throughout his lifetime, including his own.
Kenny retired from MODOT after 35 plus years as an area supervisor. Following retirement his full-time job turned to fishing. In his alone time (when he wasn’t on the water), he enjoyed harvesting pecans, making fishing lures, watching NASCAR and old westerns, and being on his tractor, working on various projects around his home. He deeply enjoyed spending time with family, dear friends Deryle Potter, Mike Lowman, and Mike Eggman, and especially enjoyed traveling with Michele.
Kenny had a tough exterior with a gentle heart. He truly loved and treasured his family. Every year he hosted the family fish fry and ensured the family picture was updated in exchange for his homemade ice cream. He loved taking ALL the grandkids to the fair, lake, and anywhere everyone could be together.
In 2023 he began attending Cross Point Church in Ava Missouri, where he was then saved and baptized February 4, 2024.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by loving grandson Jakob Lietch.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Michele, daughter, Brenda Wunder and husband Chris of Cleveland, Missouri; son, Darin Lietch and wife Kayla of Republic, Missouri; daughter, Ingrid McCallister and husband Stacey of Mountain Grove, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Devon McCallister and partner Speed Ford, Noah McCallister and wife Brooke, Cole Young and fiancé Shelby Mincks, Hadlee Wunder, Phoenix Lietch, Cameron Lietch, Brooklyn Lietch, and Charlotte Lietch; two sisters, Carol Herd and husband Gary, Marsha Miller and husband Larry Joe; nieces, Gina Herd and partner Ron, Kalynn Wood and husband Wade; nephew, Jason Miller and wife Mindy, Brooklyn and Bentley; great-niece, Sarah Beth Hawkins, several other caring relatives and many friends who will miss him deeply.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 5, 2024, in Cross Point Church, Ava, Missouri with Pastor Robert Roberts and Pastor Wade Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Denlow Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri.
