The Lord’s good and faithful servant, Norma Lee Carner, age 85, passed away peacefully in Ozark, Missouri Sunday, October 4, 2015 surrounded by her loving husband and three sons. Born September 28, 1930 in Alton, Missouri, Norma attended Thayer High School and nearly 67 years ago married the love of her life, Bob Carner, on October 26, 1948 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Although small in size, Norma’s huge, loving spirit encompassed everyone she encountered. Norma was often described as “the sweetest lady I ever met.” Norma dedicated her life to her family and friends and absolutely adored her granddaughters and great granddaughters. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed reading, walking the long lane near her home and making everyone around her feel “special.” Norma loved and enjoyed her extended family at New Hope Baptist Church in Sparta, Missouri. Norma is survived by her husband Bob; son Rick and wife Janet of Atlanta, Georgia; son Randy and wife Ruth of San Antonio, Texas; and son Jeff of Ozark; sisters Shirley Hopkins, Janice Antrobus and husband Jerry; brothers Jim Woody, Gary Woody and wife Linda, Bill Woody and wife Kathy; granddaughters Laura Daigle and husband Chad, Lauren Dalrymple and husband Brice, Meredith Stentiford and husband Bevan; great granddaughters Adelyn Daigle, Lily Dalrymple and Aubree Stentiford. Norma was preceded in death by her father E.W. Woody, mother Sedalia Alice Woody, brother Danny Woody and daughter Barbara Lynn. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 8, 2015 in New Hope Baptist Church, Sparta with Pastor John Hyde officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00P.M. Wednesday evening in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
