Norma Stutesmun March 13, 1934 - August 5, 2020

Norma Lee (Penniman) Stutesmun, age 86 of Highlandville, Missouri passed away at 4:02 P.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in Ozark Riverview Manor, Ozark, Missouri. She was born March 13, 1934 in Springfield, Missouri, daughter of William Edward and Alma (Holstein) Penniman. She was raised in the Tory Creek area and lived there most of her life. On September 30, 1948, she married Harold Clinton Stutesmun in Harrison, Arkansas. Early in their marriage they resided in Kansas and Illinois for a short period of time. They raised their family in the Highlandville area and she often helped care for her grandchildren.

Norma accepted the Lord as her savior and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to the music shows in Branson with her friend Shirley. They made many trips together and as she would say “Listening to the Gospel Singing”. The Oldfield Opry was also a favorite place. She loved to sew and making quilts was her favorite hobby.  One of the best meals Norma was well known for was her brown beans, cornbread and fried tators, hands down the best!

Harold would say “Maw let’s go on a trip, get your bags packed”, she would be packed and ready in no time. They enjoyed going to Colorado, seeing the Rocky Mountains and also took the grandchildren.

Survivors include six children, Aliene (Barry) Mills, Nixa, Leon (Kathie) Stutesmun, Ozark, Dewey Stutesmun, Ozark, Rita Hall, Wendell Stutesmun, Highlandville and Terry Stutesmun, Highlandville. Twenty grandchildren, Laura (Mark) Aldridge, John (Jessica) Garges, Keith (Tracy) Mills, Christy (Derek) Norris, Mindy (David) Essick, Jody (Lacey) Stutesmun, Christoper Neil (Danielle) Prior, Joshua (Tamara) Cram, Shawna (Todd) Lowery, Dan (Shermeka) Nelson, Max (Cheryl) Schroeder, Mandie (Doug) Ross, Mark (Sheriee) Schroeder, Machele (Jeremy) Cotton, Jason (Carrie) Stutesmun, Jonna (Adam) Monger, TeNeil (Jake) Sellers, Clayton (Crystal) Stutesmun and Keshia (Christopher) Stutesmun. Fifty-seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Alma Penniman, two brothers Clyde Amosa Penniman, Howard Clay Penniman, a sister Anna Belle Penniman, her husband Harold Clinton Stutesmun, a granddaughter Tonya Darlene Stutesmun, a daughter-in-law Diana Nelson and a son-in-law Wayne Hall.
