Paul Mefford February 22, 1920 - November 3, 2013

Paul Mefford, age 93, Sparta, MO passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Forsyth Nursing and Rehab, Forsyth, MO. Paul was born February 22, 1920 at Almartha, MO the son of the late George Russell and Lora Rae (James) Mefford. On January 30, 1946, he was united in marriage to Wanese “Peggy” Handy and to this union two sons were born. Paul was a retired civil service machinist. He also proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He is preceded in death by his wife, both parents and other relatives. Paul is survived by his two sons; Steve Mefford and wife Susie of Forsyth, MO and Terry Mefford and wife Mary Jo of Olive Branch, Mississippi; one brother Edward Mefford, Springfield, MO; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other family and loving friends. Graveside funeral services for Paul were held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013 in Linden Cemetery where he was laid to rest with his wife “Peggy”.
