She and Sonny had season tickets to the Springfield Cardinals team for many years. She was a competitive player in whatever she was doing; she always wanted to do her best. Jill was forever a charming and gracious host. Relatives as well as friends were warmly treated and welcomed, no matter the day or the hour. Jill had a fun-loving attitude and sense of adventure. Her quick wit, sense of humor, ready smile, and love of life will be missed by all who knew and loved her. At every visit, or during a hospital stay, she had a ready quip for any doctor, nurse or other medical personnel who came into the room. Jill loved her animals. She and Sonny enjoyed spoiling three miniature schnauzers: Gretchen, Bucky, and Raker. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri, 3161 W. February 17, 2013 at 6:29 amSonny,
I am so sorry for your loss. Loosing a spouse is heart breaking. I’ll always remember meeting Jill on walks in the neighborhood last summer; she was interested in all that was going on, meeting my new puppy and of course the “old” mini schnauzer. You, your family and friends, will be in my thoughts and prayers.

February 17, 2013 at 4:23 pmSonny, we were so sorry to learn of Jill’s death. We did not know her well, but our visit with her at the fishfry reflected what a sweet and caring person she was. We hope you will find some comfort in knowing that others are thinking of you and remembering you in our prayers.
It is our wish that your memories of her will offer some comfort in this difficult time.

February 19, 2013 at 10:09 amDear Earl, Thank you so much for sharing the sad news of your sister’s passing. She sounds
like such a wonderful person! I know you’ll miss her so very much.
The reason you couldn’t reach us at home is we
are still off on the winter trip. A friend is
staying with the 3 cats, and he writes us delightful emails about their antics. He doesn’t
answer our phone, as he has his own cell phone.
Please give our love and best wishes to David and all the rest of your great family. May
the precious, happy memories you have of Jill
help to sustain you all at such a difficult
time. With much love to you, Nancy, Andy
and Ellie, Mary & John

February 19, 2013 at 6:42 pmHere’s to Jill, the life of the party! The most gracious and generous host to every guest, and the winner of the most beautiful, but wicked, smile.
I am so sorry we have to let her go, it is hard to say goodbye to someone that brightens every day with her wit and charm.
I am very glad that I was able to spend time with Sonny and Jill, the rest of the wonderful McShane family, and my awesome family members while in Ozark recently to stay with Sonny and Jill. What a treat it was to get to know the zany McShane family after all of these years. That was one of the highlights of my time there, as well as being able to be with Jill every day and watch her charm and outwit everyone that came into her hospital room.
I will always take credit for that blind date that I orchestrated, when they met and were then married a few months later. Sonny, you still owe me!
Sonny, so sorry that you have to say goodbye to such a great lady, but someone in heaven requested her presence. I will always remember the great shopping trips, HGTV marathons, creative decor outings and just the love of life that Jill shared. Love you always Jill!
God be with you and our family, and the McShane family.

February 19, 2013 at 6:56 pmMy team and I had the opportunity to work with “The General a couple years ago at PMC. We were consultants and she was rightfully tough on us. However, The General had a soft spot a mile wide. Thanks for taking us to ball games and making sure we always were taken care of in Springfield. RIP Jill. You will be missed.
Sonny, we only met a couple of times. We are very sorry for loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
