Raymond Olen Hargis, 86, of Chadwick, Missouri (formerly of Fordland, Missouri) born February 23,1927 to Dewey Winfred Hargis and Minnie Jane Copeland Hargis in Webster County near Fordland, Missouri in the home of his parents. He departed this life on April 19, 2013 on the family farm near Fordland, Missouri. He married Ada Mae Flynn on December 26, 1953 in Ava, Missouri. This union was blessed with 6 children; Paul David, Paula Ann, Barbara Kathleen, Ramona Lynn, Jennie Rae, and Wanda Darlene. He was widowed in December 2000 and remarried October 6, 2001 to Clysta Billingsly in Chadwick, Missouri. Raymond served in the Army from 1950 to 1953. He hauled milk in the neighborhood for Mid Am Dairy of Springfield for many years. He worked at Native Wood Products in Ozark until 1991 when he retired. He was also a farmer for all his life on the family farm near Fordland, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ada Mae, two children; Paul David and Wanda Darlene, two grandchildren; Christy Lynn Hargis and Dakota William James Pennington, one great-grandchild; Ellah May Terrill, his brother; Philip Hargis, his sister-in-law; Virginia Schwiethale. Raymond is survived by his wife Clysta, four daughters; Paula and her husband James Newell, Kathy and her husband Randall Garfit, Lynn and her husband Johnnie Call, Jennie and her husband Doug Rice, four step-children; Larry Dollarhide and his wife Mona, Doris and her husband Steve Ryan, Linda Phillips, Darrell Dollarhide and his wife Sharon; 15 grandchildren: Sharmin and her husband Jerry Palmere, Kelly and her husband Jeff Nichols, Michael Newell and his wife Janifer, Douglas Newell and his wife Joyce, Amanda Barton, Heather and her husband Kenny Burns, Marina Garfit, Tyler Barton, Tapanga Garfit, Chase Garfit, Jason Garfit, Misty and her husband Travis Cramer, Cassie Call, Jennifer and her husband Nick Burchett, Andrew Terrill. 14 step-grandchildren; Randy and Jeff Dollarhide, Lisa, Lee, and Heather Ryan, Jeanie, Julie, Michelle, and Ethan Phillips, Tisha, Becky, Michael, and Darrell Dollarhide; 22 great-grandchildren: Cheyenne Pennington, Nocona Pennington, Mylan Nichols, Vaeya Nichols, Joseph Newell, Brittanie Newell, Christina Grider, Avery Newell, Reese Newell, Riley Newell, Emilee Honeycut, Seth Honeycut, Alissa Staples, Kelsey Barton, Abigale Pilkington, Brylee Burns, Brayden Burns, Christina Cramer, Cierra Cramer, Lily Mae Hoyt, Callie Burchett, Carter Burchett, Emma Terrill; 1 great-great grandchild: Wyatt Grider; 2 sisters: Viola Marler and Elizabeth Lupton and her husband Bill; 1 brother-in-law: Van Flynn, many nieces and nephews and a great host of friends. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 23,2013 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial followed in Union Chapel Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation was Monday evening in the funeral home from 6-7:00 P.M. The family requests donations be made to Camp Quality Ozarks, c/o Ann Adams 8844 Country Rd 197, Carthage, MO 64836.
