Roy Smith May 7, 1941 - September 12, 2016

Roy Smith, age 75 of Ozark, Missouri went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 12, 2016 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield. He was born May 7, 1941 at Galena, Missouri the son of Jake and Helen Fay Smith. Roy was united in marriage to Bonnie Rae (Martin) Smith who preceded him in death on August 27, 2014. Roy was a dedicated employee for Springfield Aluminum Metal Manufacturing and retired after 20 plus years. In his spare time, he was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Roy was also a family man who loved family gatherings, picking on his guitar and reading his Bible. Roy is survived by his six children Maxine Townlian and husband Fred, Sandra Sawyer, Bonita Jones, Roy Smith Jr. and wife Mechell, Dawn LeAnn Smith, and Wesley Smith; two brothers Harold Dean and Rick Smith; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and other caring relatives. In addition to his wife, Roy was preceded in death by his parents, a son LeRoy Allen Smith and daughter Sherry Smith. Graveside funeral services for Roy will be 11:00A.M. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in Selmore Cemetery with Pastor Gary Jennings officiating. No visitation is planned.
