Wanda Joy Smith was born on October 20, 1947 in Harrison, Arkansas to Bill and Deloris Dees. Upon moving to Springfield, Missouri, she met and fell in love with her soul mate. She was united in marriage to Bill Smith of Sparta, Missouri on November 29, 1991. On December 23, 2011, surrounded by her family and many friends, she went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Wanda was a kind, loving person with never an unkind word to say about anyone. She loved animals of all kinds, working in her numerous flower gardens, vegetable gardening, and traveling.
During the last several years of her life, Wanda developed a great love for playing music and singing along with her husband Bill and other friends and family.
Wanda is survived by her husband Bill; sister Ola Watkins of Strafford; daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Ron Wilson of Aurora, MO, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Zegita Kelley of Dallas, TX; son Daryl Kelley of Springfield, MO; daughter Karen Smith of Nixa, MO, and daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Kent Mayo of Fair Grove, MO. Wanda is also survived by ten grandchildren, Deserae, Dionne, Austin, Kaycee, Clayton, Jade, Marisa, Mariah, Roisin, and Ciara. Wanda also has two great-grandchildren, Dante and Kylie.
Funeral services for Wanda will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 26, 2011 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastors Bobby Stout and Tom Hughes officating. Burial will follow in Bruner Cemetery. Vistation will be held 9:00 to service time.
