Zelma Morrison, age 92 and a longtime resident of Glendale Gardens Nursing and Rehab passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 with her family by her side. Zelma was born June 16, 1924 near Pansy in Douglas County along with her twin sister Thelma. Zelma and her sister Thelma were the daughters of Manuel and Mary Susan (Sudie) Pruitt. On December 15, 1942 Zelma was united in marriage to Oscar Morrison. Shortly after their marriage, Oscar was called to duty during World War II and sent to foreign land to serve his country. During this time, Zelma and Thelma worked together in Springfield. When Oscar returned from his tour of duty, he and Zelma bought a farm and enjoyed the farm life. Zelma was also a longtime member of Highlonesome Baptist Church and will dearly missed by her family and friends. Zelma is survived by her daughter Carolyn Pettit and husband Bob, a son Kenneth Morrison; four grandchildren Jim Pettit and wife Kim, Amy Kipper and husband Kurt, Travis Morrison and Chris Morrison; six great-grandchildren Jessica Scott, Hannah Pettit, Brooke Pettit, Michael Morrison, Kashia Porter and Garrett Kipper; two great-great-grandchildren Danial and Lauren Scott. Zelma is also survived by her beloved twin sister Thelma Goins, several nieces, nephews other caring relatives. Zelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Michael Morrison, grandson Timothy Pettit, a brother Floyd Pruitt, sisters Lola Gray, Goldie Coffer and Floria Coffer. Graveside funeral services for Zelma will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, December 5, 2016 in Highlonesome Cemetery with Pastor Bally Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 to 2:30 P.M., Monday in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Arrangements under the care of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
