Pamela Machell Snider October 21, 1961 - January 14, 2020

Pamela Machell (Elkins) Snider, age 58 of Sparta, Missouri, left this world surrounded by angels to her heavenly home, Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 10:01 a.m.. She was born October 21, 1961 in North Kansas City, Missouri the only daughter of Leroy and Pauline (Kenney) Elkins. Pam was also a member of Prospect Baptist Church of Ozark.

In 1979, Pam graduated from Parkview High School and began working for Hagale Industries the following day and was a dedicated employee for 20 years. During her employment with Hagales, Pam met Marolyn Snider who introduced her to Scottie Snider on a blind date. On October 2, 1981 they were united in marriage at Mentor Baptist Church of Rogersville and this marriage was blessed with the angel of their eyes, Erin Snider.

In later years, Pam was employed at Third Street Sportswear, the co-owner of Stardust Bus Tour Company, Village Inn, Shoney’s, Rosie Jo’s, Century Pines Nursing and Care and finally achieving what she loved best, caring for the babies at two child care facilities.

Pam loved being with her family, especially her two grandchildren, Ashlyn and Riley. She also loved to travel, camping, sewing, crocheting, dinner clubs, and being a member of Ozark Cosmopolitan Club. During her 39 years of marriage, she enjoyed the many surprises Scottie brought to their lives and never knew what he was going to do next. For example, Pam discovered their home filled with 167 Christmas trees, many home tours and additional their home was turned into a dining restaurant. Pam never complained.

Pam is survived by her husband Scottie; daughter Erin (Snider) Long and husband Heath; two grandchildren Ashlyn Long and Riley Long; her mother Pauline Salkil; two brothers Mike Elkins and wife Debbie and Delbert Elkins; six nephews, three nieces, seven great-nephews and nieces; a very good friend, Randy Woods, other caring relatives and many good friends. Pam was preceded in death by her father Leroy Delbert Elkins, step father Charles Allen Salkil, father-in-law and mother-in-law Bob and Marolyn Snider, brother-in-law Marty Snider.

Funeral services will be 2:00P.M. Sunday, January 19, 2020 in Mentor Baptist Church, 5735 South Farm Road 193, Rogersville, Missouri. Pastor Bob Long will be officiating and burial will follow in Hopedale Cemetery, Ozark. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday evening in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.

The family would like to thank the Compassus Hospice family and all the people that sat with Pam during her final days, along with Randy and Katie Barnes for everything they have done for us. God Bless you all. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated.

    We were so sorry to hear about the loss of Pam. I have been in bad health with lots of things going on, so I have lost touch with so many people. I just had spine surgery Dec. 31 at Barnes in St. Louis & have not been out since. I walk around the house & try to get my muscles strengthened but it will be slow: We can not be there for services but know that you are in our prayers… She was such a sweet lady… Sympathy, Betty & Garry Keltner

    Scottie and Erin, I am so sorry I cannot attend the services for Pam. She was such a special lady and had a very contagious laugh. I know she will be missed by many but especially by her husband, daughter and grandbabies. You are in my prayers for God’s sweet comfort. Our Heavenly Father is the only true comfort. I know this personally by Randy’s passing. The one thing I will leave you with is a title of a song I love to sing and it gives me comfort in its words and definitely true of Heaven gaining Pam as a new resident, ” Heaven’s Sounding Sweeter All the Time “.
