Kenneth “Doc” Lane December 18, 1941 - November 21, 2020

Kenneth Gene “Doc” Lane, age 78 of Ava, Missouri passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, November 21, 2020. He was born December 18, 1941, at Elijah, Missouri the son of Virgil and Ruth (Bennett) Lane. He was united in marriage to Candy Robertson on November 8, 1964.

After proudly serving his country as a member of the United States Navy, he began a lifelong career as a Chiropractor.  His chiropractic service spanned 42 years with many of those years in Ava, Missouri.  During those 42 years, he helped thousands of people and successfully achieved one of his greatest accomplishments, second only to giving his heart to Jesus Christ. Kenneth will be sadly missed, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of his loving family and friends.

Kenneth is survived by one son, James Joseph Lane and wife Latoya; two grandchildren Aliyah and Kenneth Lane, all of Palmares, Alajuela, Costa Rica; one brother Keith Lane of Vero Beach, Florida; many precious nieces, nephews and a host of dear, life-long friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Candy; one daughter, Kelly Gene Lane and one brother, Wayne Lane.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Compassus Hospice of Mountain Grove, Missouri for the loving and professional care they gave to Kenneth.

Graveside funeral services for Kenneth will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 23, 2020 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Wasola, Missouri, with J.D. Grissom officiating.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.  Online condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com.

    So sorry to hear about brother Lane’s passing. I always enjoyed visiting with him at church in Ava when he was able to attend. He will be missed. Prayers for the family. God bless!

    Old “Unc”! On the Douglas & Ozark counties borders was a wonderful place to have grown up. With the many communities of Almartha, Wasola, Souder & Squires life was never dull back then. Uncle Kenny always encouraged me to get outside & explore the nature of the woods and pastures so that I could witness first hand what a wonderful world we lived in and called home. He was always ready to help & instruct me in a good ole fashioned shooting match. It was never really supposed to be competitive but he always kept score for some reason! When I was just a young lad I walked “pigeon-toed”, but Ole “Unc”, worked & worked popping my legs. I’ve walked straight ever sense! He always loved to see the fish we’d catch from the creek or some old pond and tell us how small they were!! Uncle Kenny was a one of a kind man, he kept life simple, lived by a set of moral principles and I learned from his example. He was always ready to listen to or tell a “big”, story whenever the need arose and never passed up a chance to visit. I will miss our long conversations, but I know we’ll get to start up those conversations again one day when it comes my time to join him. While I can’t speak for others, you’ve left behind 1 nephew that will miss you greatly. Godspeed Unc, you’ve earned it! Faithfully, Your Nephew
