Barnes Family Funerals - Agnes (Maggie) St. Clair

Agnes Louise (Loomis) St. Clair, age 87 Chadwick, Missouri passed away April 12, 2016. “Maggie” as she was affectionately called, was born September 12, 1928 in Chadwick, the daughter of John “Babe” and Lyda (Moody) Loomis. Maggie was one of nine children. She was married to Arvel St. Clair April 23, 1946, to whom three children were born. She was baptized into the Christian Church in 1959 by the Reverend Melvin Terry at Garrison under the old bridge at Swan Creek. Maggie was a dedicated employee at Dayco Industries for 23 years, retiring in 1985. She then entered into a life of volunteer service which she greatly enjoyed. Primarily, she was a volunteer at the Mark Twain National Forest where she loved taking care of the park and getting to know “the motorcycle boys” and their families over the years. She was also treasurer/secretary of Chadwick’s first volunteer fire department. Maggie secured and obtained a grant that provided Chadwick with their first fire truck and was very proud of that accomplishment. Maggie was also very active in local politics. She was a Christian County Democrat Committee woman for many years and also treasurer of the Chadwick Cemetery Association. Maggie was preceded in death by a son, Michael Gene St. Clair, her parents and seven brothers and sisters. Maggie is survived by her sister, Marie Davis and husband Jim; her daughter, Judy Hicks and husband Denton; her son Ron St. Clair and wife Denise; grandchildren, Janna Jenkins and husband Robert all of Chadwick and Doug Kessinger and wife Tierra Pittsburgh, Kansas; four great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 15, 2016 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Jon Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. until service time Friday, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chadwick Memorial Cemetery, Chadwick, MO.

Maggie was independent in spirit, strong in opinion and kind in heart. She was a treasure to her family and will be forever loved and never forgotten.

I got acquainted with “Aggie” when we worked together at Dayco Rubber Co. Later, I visited her in her home while I was a pastor at the Chadwick Community Church. She was never one to mince words and you knew exactly where you stood with her! Underneath that rough exterior, there was a heart of gold and I am so glad I was able to have the experience of knowing her. Prayers for the family as they go through this time.

    Dear family of Maggie Loomis,
I wanted to share my condolences for the loss of your dear Maggie, mom, and grandma. The obituary shared her desires to help others in her community. As a Bible reader she had a hope of a marvelous future. She knew there would be a resurrection. John 5:28,29. For more more information visit this website http://www.jw.org
On the home page there’s a wonderful article, ” What is the resurrection?” It is a really encouraging article that takes you into your Bible.
