Alice Marie Tucker October 26, 1947 - July 15, 2011

Alice Marie Tucker, 63, Garrison, Missouri, passed away Friday July 15, 2011 at her home with her husband and daughter by her side. Alice was born October 26, 1947 in Camden, New Jersey the daughter of Russell Tucker and Alice (Marchant) Covington. On August 3, 1992, she was united in marriage to Garry Dale Mitchell in Oklahoma. Alice was raised in Pennsylvania, and loved playing sports like field hockey. As a young adult, she longed to go west. She proudly served her country as a private in the United States Marine Corps, later attended college in Colorado, and then lived in Montana and Florida before settling in Springfield, Missouri. In 1992, she moved to Garrison, Missouri and began living her lifelong dream of becoming a farmer. Alice was employed at 3M for 33 years until she retired in 2006. She enjoyed traveling, animal watching and running the farm. She was preceded in death by her parents. Alice is survived by her husband Garry Mitchell and his five daughters, four sons, 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter Bethany Tucker and son-in-law Jason Shugart, and their two children, Claire Shugart (12) and Henry Shugart (9). Other survivors include dear friends and other caring relatives. Funeral services were held 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 18, 2011 in Barnes Family Funeral Home with Rev. Bally Johnson officiating.
