Bruce Burkhart age 49 of Chestnutridge, passed away Monday morning, May 16, 2011 in St. John’s Hospital. He was born September 30, 1961 the son of Robert and Eula Mae (Gideon) Burkhart. On June 26, 2010 he was united in marriage to Terri Vest.
Bruce was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his ATV and camping. Bruce was a dedicated and hard-working man and truly enjoyed his family, grandchildren and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Bruce is survived by his wife Terri, five children Wendy Crossland of Sparta, Matthew Burkhart and wife Chelby of Leslie, Missouri, Crystal Shrewsbury, Misty Shrewsbury and Jeremy Shrewsbury all of Chestnutridge, Missouri; three sisters Rita Kay Grider and husband Mike of Highlandville, Carol McHaffie and husband Bobbie of Bruner, and Shelly Elsey of Nixa; two brothers Randy Burkhart and wife Debbie of Sparta and Bobbie Burkhart and wife Vallery of Chadwick; five grandchildren Hunter Crossland, Shelby Crossland, Lane Burkhart, Keegan Burkhart and Gavin Kildea; other relatives and many loving friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Dale Roller officiating. Burial will follow in Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home.
