Darren James Davis, age 52 of Chadwick, Missouri, went into the loving arms of Jesus Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Darren was born in Springfield, Missouri on Thursday, September 26, 1968 to James Willard and Kathern Marie Davis.
Darren grew up helping on the family farm, working cattle, hauling hay and repairing the farm trucks. When he was a young boy, during one of the many services he attended at Chadwick Union Church, Darren went to the altar all on his own and asked Jesus into his heart. He was soon afterwards baptized at Swan Creek. He also dabbled in oil painting in his teenage years. He attended and graduated from Chadwick High School in 1986. He was an amazing storyteller of memories from his childhood. He thrilled his children as he recollected the stories while he pushed them on rope swings, hanging from the oak trees in the back yard.
Darren was a wonderful father and Papa to his children and his grandchildren. He loved spending Sunday at his mom and dad’s house surrounded by his kids and grandkids. He spent quality time teaching them everything he possibly could. He shared his knowledge of how to fish, start fires, shoot guns and pop a wheelie on the 4-wheeler. He never missed a practice or a game. If there was fun to be had, Darren was always ready and available. Darren was loved by many and will be sadly missed but will live on forever in the hearts of his many loved ones.
Darren was preceded in his death by his grandparents, Babe and Lyda Loomis, Adam and Lessie Davis. In addition to his parents, James W and Kathern Marie Davis, Darren is also survived by his sister Leslie Thomas and husband David; his children Alexis Kastner and husband Derek, Erika McKnight and husband Jared, Evan Davis and JoLea Davis; grandchildren Harper and Hayden McKnight, Jaxon, Bella, and Zoe Kastner, and nephew Matthew and niece Caroline Thomas.
Arrangements for Darren are under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri. No visitation is planned.
Services will be held privately for immediate family due to circumstances.

July 8, 2021 at 2:03 pmTo the best co-worker/friend a guy could ever ask for. There were so many times we endured the roughest parts of our jobs together, and I can’t imagine getting through it with anyone else. You were like a brother to me and I will never forget the good times that we had. Heaven inherited a great soul, until we meet again!!!

July 8, 2021 at 2:09 pmDarren was a good friend. We worked together in distribution for a number of years. I can’t remember a time where he didn’t have a smirk/smile and a laugh ready. I would always ask him what his Mom served him for Sunday dinner and that always brought the biggest smile. I am truly sorry for families loss. Darren was one of a kind and will truly be greatly missed.
