Barnes Family Funerals - Debbie (Evans) Sparks

Debbie (Evans) Sparks, age 60, Fremont Hills passed away May 20, 2018. Debbie was born February 3, 1958 in Kirkwood, MO to Harold and Loretta (Yount) Robbins. Debbie graduated from Cabool High School, married, and raised three children; Justin, Matthew, and Donita. In 2004 Debbie married Doug Sparks and shortly after they embarked on a 10 year RV-ing adventure before moving to Ozark, MO in 2016. In January 2017, Debbie was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer culminating in her peaceful death surrounded by her family in her home. Debbie’s legacy will be that she loved the Lord deeply and lived her life to bring honor to her heavenly Father. There is a verse in the Bible (her favorite book!) that sums up our memories of her: “We remember before our God and Father your work produced by FAITH, your labor prompted by LOVE, and your endurance inspired by HOPE in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thes 1:3. Debbie lived a life of simple obedience to God’s Word. She honored the Lord daily by the thoughtful ways she loved the people around her. She was a faithful servant and great is her reward in heaven! Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, father, and son, Justin Evans. She is survived by her husband, Doug Sparks and his children and grandchildren; her son, Matt Evans, wife Betsey, and their children Flinton and Peyton of Rogersville, MO; her daughter, Donita Evans of Springfield, MO; her brother, Lea Robbins and wife Nancy of Lewiston, ID; her sister, Bonnie Mitchell and husband Steve of Cabool, MO. Debbie will be missed by many other loving family members and dear friends near and far. Special thanks to Mercy Hospice for their tremendous care during Debbie’s most difficult health challenges, Barnes Family Funeral Home for their professional and compassionate service, and EVERYONE who visited, wrote, called, brought food, and prayed. Debbie and her family were overwhelmed by your kindness, generosity, and support while on this difficult, yet extraordinary, journey. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to On Time Ministry, PO Box 584, Willow Springs, MO 65793 or to any charity of your choice. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10am in Cabool, MO at the amphitheater in Roberts Park. In case of inclement weather, an alternate location will be determined.
