Denton Lee Hicks was born July 28, 1937, and passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, just a few days before his 87th birthday. He was born in Omaha, Arkansas to Benton Hicks and Ella Blevins Hicks and was a graduate of Omaha High School. His father taught him farming from an early age. When he left home, he became an employee of White River Electric Company in Branson for 25 years, a job he truly enjoyed. During this time, he was also a deputy for the Branson Police Department for many years.
Denton was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chadwick and also attended Chadwick Pentecostal Church in Chadwick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James and his previous wife and their unborn child.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; stepchildren, Janna Jenkins and husband, Robert of Chadwick and Douglas Kessinger and wife, Tierra of Pittsburg, Kansas; nephew, Joe Hicks and wife, Christy of Chadwick; and several other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, July 29 at 10:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor John Mitchell and Pastor Gary Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Omaha Methodist Cemetery in Omaha, Arkansas. Arrangements under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
