Eddie Dean Moody February 18, 1956 - January 26, 2016

Eddie Dean Moody, age 59, ladies’ man, fisherman, cowboy, and accomplished horse trainer died on Tuesday, January 27, 2016. Although there were several women in his life, there was one in particular that always looked out for his best interest and loved him unconditionally, his mom Betty Joyce Brumley. Of course, two others very important in his life were his two sisters, Betty Sue Thompson and Sybil Allen. Being the youngest of three children and having these two as sisters was probably what made him so ornery. Even though Eddie didn’t spend much time with his dad, Fred Moody, he did have a wonderful man in his life, Bob Brumley. Eddie did settle down, (a few times) just long enough to have kids, y’all know who we are. He taught us how to ride a horse, tie flies, how to take care of rabbits and pigs, and also showed us how to fly fish. He taught Tracy how to barrel race. Eventually he had two beautiful granddaughters Ashley 14 and Taylor 11. He had a lifelong love affair with bacon, sausage, (yes, he even poured the left over grease in a cup and drank it. YUCK!! No wonder it was his heart that eventually gave out.) Grandma’s famous biscuits and gravy, deviled eggs, chicken, and of course chocolate pie. AHH…the memories…when I was younger he would have Grandma make TWO chocolate pies so he and I could have a pie eating contest (he always won). He took fashion advice from no one (not even his mom). His daily attire consisted of a western shirt (snap buttons), jeans with a big belt buckle, boots, and of course the famous cowboy hat. Eddie had so many hobbies and I’m sure there are some I’m forgetting. When he was younger his passion was team roping (many championships), deer hunting, and his favorite coon hunting. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. Even though he had many job titles, back in his younger days, he was a meat cutter and truck driver. As Eddie grew older his love and passion was horse training at Run Arena and very much loved his Cowboy Church family and the trail rides they went on. Honoring Eddie’s request, there will not be any services at this time. The family is going to carry out his wishes to be cremated and have his ashes spread over his favorite camping spot at Bar-K. Let me tell you folks

Who have gathered here today

That I’m a proud and thankful cowboy

Who has just passed away
