It is with great sadness the family of Edward “Eddie” Charles Riley, age 77 of Ozark, announces he suddenly passed away, Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in Cox Hospital, after complications from heart surgery. He was born March 14, 1941 the son of Charles and Ruth (Rogers) Riley.
Eddie was a Mountain Grove native and attended Mountain Grove High School where he met his sweetheart, Jeanette( Rhodes) Riley and later they were united in marriage on October 1, 1960. They enjoyed fishing and hunting together as well as building and selling several houses through the years. Eddie was also a retiree from Dayco of Springfield. Eddie and Jeanette shared almost 57 years together before cancer took her life on Memorial Day 2017. Eddie also had a big generous heart and delighted in gardening and sharing his vegetables with others. Eddie enjoyed socializing and was a very active member of Ozark Senior Center where he played pool and cards with his friends.
Eddie is survived by two sons Charles Riley and wife Angie, Dennis Riley and wife Rhonda; a brother Egbert Eugene Riley; two grandsons by marriage Alex and Mic; many nieces, nephews and other caring relatives. In addition to his wife, Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and a much loved grandson Nickolas E. Riley.
According to Eddie’s wishes his body has been cremated under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Celebration of life services are planned by his family at a later date.
