Evan John Lackey August 26, 1996 - May 19, 2019

Evan John Lackey, age 22 of Ozark, Missouri passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019. Evan was born August 26, 1996 in Lake Forest, Illinois. Evan graduated early from High School and was accepted into Missouri State University with a full 4 year Scholarship to study Botany-Agriculture.

Evan had a great love for his country and joined the United States National Guard and proudly served as a member of the United States Infantry. He attained the rank of E-4 and served in very dangerous military activities. Evan loved to play basketball, baseball, swimming and shooting guns but mostly he enjoyed being with his friends and family. For those fortunate enough to know Evan, they can honestly say he was among the kindest, most genuine, sincere person they have met. Evan was not only a beautiful soul but he could make you laugh when you were having a bad day. He was a great friend, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and most of all a SON. I was very proud to be his mother.

Evan will always be a shining star and is going to be truly missed every single day.

Funeral services and visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 24, 2019 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. On line condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com

Dear Evan,  I thought of you today but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence. I often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake from which I’ll never part , God has you in his arms, I have you in my Heart.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               ( Love, Mom )

Oh how fiercely Evan will be missed! No more “I love you Gramma”, no more of his funny stories. Knowing he’s in a much better place, having a reunion with family members, and no longer in pain I hope brings comfort to everyone his life has touched. Thankful for every precious memory of our time together on this earth. Every time I see a bottle of Tapatio sauce, Nutella and expensive socks I smile because I immediately think of my sweet little guy💕 May God’s amazing grace cover us all! Praying for your family Denise. It’s not the end, rather a pause.
