Lillie May (Applegate) Satterfield, age 76 of Fair Play, Missouri departed this life Monday, June 3, 2019, in her home and she was lovingly surrounded by her caring family. She was born April 20, 1943 the daughter of Clinton and Lou Ditha (Lakey) Applegate. May was united in marriage to Jimmie Lewis Satterfield who preceded her in death.
May loved all of her family unconditionally and loved life in general. She especially enjoyed each new day and what it would bring. May enjoyed playing Bingo, fishing and being with her grandchildren and family. May will be greatly missed by her many friends and family but her sweet memory will live on forever.
May is survived by four children, James Allen Bellamy and wife Becky of Pleasant Hope, Mary Rose and husband Richard of Sparta, Sheila Langdon of Macon and David Arnold of Everton; three brothers, Thetis Applegate and wife Anna Mae, Cletis Applegate and William Applegate; three sisters, Rosa Perez and husband Fred, Joyce Enlow, Debbie Gazzaway and husband Rick; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; several nieces, nephews and other caring relatives.
In addition to her husband, May was preceded in death by her parents, a son Richard Perkins, a sister Juanita Reed, a brother Clinton Applegate, Jr., a grandson Derrick Maggard, a granddaughter Tiffany Childress, a nephew Chris Reed and a son-in-law Jerry Langdon.
May will be laid to rest at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, June 23, 2019 in Rose Hill Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at Willard Park, 133 N. State Highway Z, Willard, Missouri. Donations are suggested to Breast Cancer Foundation, 330 N. Jefferson, Springfield, Missouri 65806. Cremation and arrangements under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
