Hazel Tristan July 10, 1927 - August 26, 2013

Hazel Tristan, 86, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Arbors at Ravenwood. She was born July 10, 1927 in Fairfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Willis and Violet Wilson. Hazel graduated with high honors from Central High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She attended Bethel Assembly of God where she met the love of her life Frank Tristan. They were married on November 1, 1947 in Bridgeport. Hazel was a homemaker until her youngest daughter started school. She then worked as a book-keeper/office manager for a trucking company for over 30 years. She loved the summer months and especially enjoyed swimming and relaxing in the family swimming pool. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank, her husband of 61 years, and her sister Fern. Hazel is survived by her son Tom Tristan and wife Beckee, of Nixa; daughters Kathi Bleacher of Watertown, Connecticut, and Debra Evans and husband Mark (Favored of God) of Trumbull, Connecticut; grandchildren Frank and Natalie Tristan, Amy Presley, Luke and Summer Evans, Kimberly Smith and Bethany Bleacher; great-grandchildren Daniel, Lauren, and Joey Presley, Colin and Stephanie Marsh, Mia Smith, Brody Evans, Hays and Taylor Tristan, plus one great-great-granddaughter Rowan Marsh. Funeral services and visitation for Hazel were held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the funeral home with Pastor John Lindall officiating. Burial was in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
