Imogene Winters, “Granny” age 80 of Ozark, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013. She was born December 20, 1932 to Elzie and Dora Bell Stillings in Ava, Missouri and was one of fourteen children. Granny lived in Salina, Kansas, Dallas, Texas, Springfield, Missouri, Nixa, Missouri and for the last several years in Ozark. She worked as a grocery clerk and was well known and loved by many. She truly enjoyed meeting and talking with all of her customers and worked circles around everyone. She retired in 1996 to care for her youngest great-granddaughter, Hailee, with whom she had a very special bond. She took the most pride and joy in being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always ready to take a road trip, bake a pie or “snuggle up”. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Coffey, her son Jerry Winters and his wife along with five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, siblings: Fern, Marie, Vernie, Bethene, Dale Keith, Leon and Janet. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers. Granny will be remembered for her feisty and stubborn spirit, her unstoppable work ethic, her generosity and her “tell it how it is” attitude. She will be deeply missed by many and her presence with us will remain strong. Granny, “we love you the most”. Graveside funeral services for Imogene was held 2:00 PM, Monday, December 16, 2013 in Stillings Cemetery, Breeden Community with Vernie Stillings officiating. December 14, 2013 at 2:19 pmImogene and I grew up together and what fond memories I have of her. The two of us always held our own with so many brothers We learned to fight at a very young age. My love goes out to her family as well as all the brothers and sisters. The strong family ties that you have will help as you deal with the loss of a dear Mother & sister. She will be missed by all her cousins too. God Bless.
