Jake Jacob Dow (Jake) Norton, age 68, passed away at home in Ozark, Missouri on Thursday, December 3, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 26,1952 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Guerdon Delos (Ben) and Laura Lee (Freeburg) Norton. Jake was a graduate of Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. Jake proudly his country and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Baldor Electric in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 2017. He was a machinist par excellence and enjoyed spending time in his home workshop.
Jake is survived by his wife, Brenda; son Jacob Rhy (Hayley); sister, Linda (Thomas) Norton-Smith and grandsons, Jacob Arlo and Atley; granddaughter Aries and nieces, nephews and cousins who will all miss him greatly. No memorial service is planned at this time. Services and arrangements are under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
