Date of Funeral

June 11, 2024

Jeannie Prey, age 60 of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home, Wednesday, June 5, 2024. She was born September 8, 1963, in Lake City, Tennessee, to her parents, Morris and Linda Jones, who have both preceded her in death. In addition to her love for gardening, Jeannie had a caregiving connection with animals, especially cats. The two fur babies she presently cared for were named Copper and Moxie, and she was well-known as the best “Cat Mom Ever.” Music was another passion for Jeannie as well as her talent to play the piano and flute. She made connections everywhere she went and enjoyed her many years as a customer service representative for several insurance companies, especially Blue Cross and United Health. Jeannie will be sadly missed but her loving memory will continue to inspire others.

Jeannie is survived by her loving husband Eric Prey; one sister Julia Huff and husband Wesley; one brother David Jones; a niece Libby Huff; a nephew Daniel Huff, other caring relatives and many friends.
