Juanita Mae Bradford Glidewell Barker went to her heavenly home on Thursday morning June 6th, 2024. Juanita,( Deet, or Mamaw to family and friends), was born November 22, 1928, to Freddie and Cleo Bradford. Two wonderful men were blessed to have called Juanita their wife. She and Orville Glidewell were married on March 19, 1949, and were happily married until his death on May 9, 1992. She was married to her second husband, Everett Barker, on November 22, 1993 and they were happily married until his death on March 10, 2016.
She loved the Lord. As a committed Christian since she was a young girl, she served the Lord faithfully in her daily life and at the churches she attended. Some of her ministries were Sunday School teacher, singer, guitarist, and visitation staff member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a brother, Earl Bradford, sisters Blanch Harris, Velta Waldrep, and June Huff; stepdaughters Charlotte Hopkins and Janice Troutt. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Eva Scott and Lela Faye Martin, brother Ted Bradford, daughters Rita Fortner (husband Roger), Freda Roussell (husband Dale, stepdaughters Kaye Dowdle, and Phyllis Barker, 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Juanita will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 10, 2024 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Schupbach Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, June 9, 2024 in the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com.
