Linda Tennison May 3, 1950 - August 24, 2024

Date of Funeral

August 28, 2024

Linda Tennison, age 74 of Sparta, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Saturday, August 24, 2024, while residing in Ozark Nursing and Care, Ozark, Missouri. She was born May 3, 1950, in St Joseph, Missouri to her parents Joseph Corcoran and Ruby (Blanton) Corcoran. Linda was the fourth child born to the family of seven siblings. She loved her younger years in the Kansas-St Joesph area where she made friends, found the love of softball, music, traveling, a lot of reading and being outdoors.

In the 1980’s Linda moved to the Chadwick-Sparta area, where she fell in love and was united in marriage in 1985, to Guy “Pete” Tennison. During the Summer she gave birth to her only child, Amanda Tennison. Linda also took on the role of step-mom to Ray and Tonya and did it with ease, joy and love. She enjoyed her life as a full time stay at home mom. Later, Linda re-entered the work force and was employed with Wal-Mart. Through her smile and contagious laughter, Linda made many friends. For 17 years, Linda enjoyed the photo lab at Wal-Mart where she was able to express her love for photography. It was truly her passion and calling.

In 2004, her world changed when she became a grandmother to her only granddaughter, Brooke. Linda was the best grandmother and always attended events big and small, cheering in the crowd or boasting about her granddaughter to friends and family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joe and Kirk, sisters Betty, Clara, and Juanita. She is lovingly survived by her daughter Amanda Tennison; granddaughter Brooke Tennison; sister Glenda Sanders; several nieces, nephews and other caring relatives.

Graveside funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be held NOON to 2:00 P.M. in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri. Online condolences may be shared www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com
