Francis Nadine Newnham, age 91 of Rolla, Missouri passed away peacefully August 7, 2024 after a short battle with illness. Nadine was born November 26, 1932, the daughter of
Herbert and Ellen (Loe) Hickman. She was united in marriage on May 19, 1951 to Kenneth Newnham of Carrollton, Missouri.
Nadine grew up on a farm in north Missouri, where her main chores involved the dairy cattle that had to be tended, as well as helping with her younger siblings. As a young mother she
had a thriving sewing business that often overlapped with being the best high school band booster ever. Her expertise as a seamstress continued past the days of prom dresses and
suit jackets and in her mid to late 80’s she still was the one to go to if you had challenging clothing repairs. Life changes brought her to Ozark, Missouri where she then was able to
participate daily in the lives of her daughter’s family. It was in Ozark that she found a wonderful church family at the Ozark First Church of the Nazarene. There she formed
lasting friendships and fostered her already solid faith. Some hobbies she enjoyed were reading, china painting, trying new recipes in the kitchen and going on long drives in the countryside.
Nadine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Donald Brookshire of Vichy, Missouri; grandson Levi Brookshire of Springfield, Missouri and grandson Garrett Brookshire of Vichy, Missouri;
great grandsons Elijah and Bradley Brookshire and great granddaughter Aliyah Brookshire; ten nieces and nephews and numerous extended family members.
Nadine was preceded in death by her son Rodney Newnham, grandson Nathan Brookshire and siblings Kenneth (Pete) Hickman, James (Jim) Hickman, Marilyn Stottlemyre and Carolyn Dickerson.
Nadine was an animal lover, especially cats and dogs, so in lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite animal rescue would be appreciated.
A memorial service for Nadine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Ozark First Church of the Nazarene, 500 E. Highview Drive, Ozark, Missouri, 65721.
Cremation under the direction and care of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Online condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com.
