Lou Ellen McKnight, age 63 of Sparta, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Cox South Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 1, 1954 in Buick, Missouri, the daughter of Carl Crocker and Goldie (Radford) Crocker. On June 27, 1975 she was united in marriage to Jerry McKnight. In life there are few people that are always laughing, smiling and who make you happier just being around them, Lou was that gifted person. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She was a cherished matriarch who set a wonderful example for others on what it means to work hard. Lou was a mail carrier for the USPS in Ozark for almost 10 years. She especially loved visiting with her customers along her route. Lou was a talented cook who loved a good family gathering, raising cattle, and an occasional auction. Lou was saved and baptized at a young age. While we will miss her here in earth, we feel comfort in knowing that she is now walking the streets of gold alongside her Savior. Lou is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jerry; three children, Melody Otto and husband Chris, Amanda McKnight, Jared McKnight and wife Erika; mother-in-law, Barbara McKnight; three sisters, Carlene Mount and husband John, Shirley Black and husband Eddie, Lea Petty and husband Jim; two brothers, Carl Crocker, David Crocker and wife Victoria; five grandchildren, Brandon and Trenton Gray, Addison and London Otto and Harper McKnight; three special brothers-in-law Larry McKnight and wife Beth, Terry McKnight and wife Autumn, Tim McKnight and wife Karen and many other caring relatives and good friends. Lou was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Joyce Frizzell, father-in-law Gerald McKnight, son-in-law Jonathan Gray and sister-in-law Verna Crocker. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Rogersville, MO. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in the funeral home. Donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com.

I am so sorry to hear of Lou’s passing. She was truly a loving and good friend. I was always glad to see her when she brought the mail into the dealership and would wave or took a little time to talk. I’m really going to miss her. If there
is anything I can do to help let me know.
