Maria Nieves (Sanchez) Cardona was born August 5, 1929, to Aniceto and Hermenegilda Sanchez in Del Rio, Texas. In March of 1946, she was united in marriage to Raul Cardona, Sr., in Eagle Pass, Texas. In 1956, the family moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota.
At the time of Maria’s death, she was living at the home of her granddaughter and grand son-in-law Abigail and Michael Fowler.
Maria is survived by her children Rene Cardona and family, Gloria Cardona and family, Ruben (Yolanda) Cardona and family, Tomas (Michelle) Cardona and family, and Luis (Sandra) Cardona and family.
Maria went to Heaven, Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the age of 92 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Raul, son Raul Cardona, Jr., infant son Ruben, her parents, and siblings.
Private ceremony will be held by the family.
