Mark Lloyd Murphy, age 56 of Ozark, MO passed away peacefully in his sleep, Thursday, March 12, 2015. He was born in Ironton, MO February 27, 1959 the son of Wayne A. and Delores (Polete) Murphy. He is survived by his father Wayne A. Murphy; son Chance; sisters Paula Payne and husband John of Ozark, MO and Tami Burris and husband Michael of Stilwell, KS; brother Tony Murphy and wife Kim of Acworth, GA. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews, four grandnieces and one grandnephew. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Delores and a grandniece Makayla Murphy-Jones. Mark was a graduate of Glendale High School. Mark worked his entire life in the Springfield/Ozark area. He was a seasonal volunteer of the Salvation Army and loved gardening and working outdoors. He was a kind, gentle soul and devoted son. Mark was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Funeral services for Mark will be Monday, March 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with burial to follow in Hopedale Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, 12:30 pm until service time in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Mark’s name to Hospice and Palliative Care, attn. Dr. Carl Claxton, Medical Director, 1240 East Independence, Springfield, MO 65804.

    It has been so long since I saw Mark, but I can still see his smile and feel how he could make me laugh. I know he will be greatly missed. My prayers are with Tami and and all their family.

    Mark was as nice of a person as you would ever want to meet. Always a great guy, always happy and just an all around great friend. I wish I could have made the service. Mark will truly be missed.

    I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Mark at Sam’s Club for 2 years.he was a dear friend and I will miss him.
