Evonda Lou Carey, age 55 of Ozark, Misssouri, passed from this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2015. She was born May 31, 1959 in Springfield, Missouri the daughter of James and Mary Lou (Loveland) Carey. In 1977 she graduated from Ozark High School. She put her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at a young age at Church Bible Camp. Evonda loved spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed Saturday night family time with her parents, brothers and sister. The love and laughter she brought to her family will be greatly missed. Evonda is survived by her parents, James and Mary Lou Carey of Ozark; three brothers, Randy Carey, Greg Carey, Steve Carey and wife Marsha; one sister, Sherry Washburn and husband Tom; nephews, Zachary Carey and wife Karissa, Thomas Carey and wife Amber, Sean Carey and wife Chandra, Cory Wheelock, nieces, Amber Carey, April Ryan and husband Clint, Mindy Moomaw and husband Jason and a very dear friend, John Jones. Evonda is additional survived by Stanley Swayne, Huba Swayne, Tony Swayne, Shelly and husband Tony Kite, Megan Swayne, Josh Steele, Kendall Swayne and Kingston Finley. Evonda was preceded in death by a brother Jim Carey. Evonda was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. At the age of 11, she was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes and endured many years of complications from this disease. Funeral services for Evonda will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Jerry Loveland officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Diabetes Association or to Least of These in Nixa, MO.
