Barnes Family Funerals - Mason Christopher Guccione

Mighty Mason Christopher Guccione, age 5 of Clever, Missouri, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday April 18, 2017. Mason was in his home, surrounded by his loving family and in the arms of his mother. On July 19, 2011, he was born in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Scott and Becky Guccione. Mason was the most amazing 5 year old little boy. His wisdom and spirit were beyond his years and he never met a stranger. He taught us how to live for the day, love like there is no tomorrow and SMILE no matter what. He changed the lives of countless people from coast to coast and brought happiness to all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Mason is survived by his parents, Scott and Becky, of Clever, Missouri; 3 siblings, Payton (9) and Lainey (3) of the home and Chase Brown (8) of Ozark; Mason was also blessed with Grandparents, Papa Chris and Maucka Patty Herndon, Papa Bob and Grandma Cindy Genzler, as well as Great Grandparents Papa Les Williams and Grandma Gwen Guccione, several caring Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was preceeded in death by his Grandpa Greg Guccione, Great Grandpa Joe Guccione and Great Grandma Margery Williams. Mason loved his siblings and always enjoyed playing with his brother on his swing set or riding on his car racing with his sister. When his health prevented outside play, Mason loved to watch Paw Patrol movies, color pictures, play with Play Dough, read his Bible or flip through People Magazine. He loved to laugh, give “sugar” kisses, do his “happy” and “shake it” dances and comfort anyone in need. When his Mama was having a bad day and sad he would reach up to give her a hug, pat her on the back and tell her “It will be ok Mama, don’t be sad.” He refused to have a bad day even when we knew he wasn’t feeling well. He smiled and loved until he was taken to Heaven by our Loving, Compassionate and Healing Lord. We will forever be thankful for the time we were gifted with Mason. The last several months of Mason’s life were spent in Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Philadelphia, Pa. His heart was just not strong enough to carry a spirit as large as Mason’s. We want to thank all the staff that cared for Mason in both hospitals. From the Doctors, to the AMAZING nursing staff, to the custodial staff and beyond. Please know you have forever impacted our lives and Mason loves you all. We would also like to thank the caring staff of Hospice Compassus. Without your help we would not have been able to bring Mason home to enjoy his last few weeks. That meant the world to us. Mason we promise to love you for always, try our very best to live like you did and never forget the many lessons your life has taught us. We will send you sugar kisses to Heaven every day. Till we meet again in our Heavenly home fly high little buddy fly high. Funeral services for Mason will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 22, 2017 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church, Springfield, Missouri. Burial will follow in Frazier Cemetery, Boaz, Missouri. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday evening in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark .Arrangements under the direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Donations are suggested to American Heart Association. I am so fortunate to know Mason and his family through caring for him while he was at Children’s Mercy. Mason would always put a smile on anyone’s face and everyone always made a point to stop in and say hi to him. He was such a special boy with such a spunk for life. You couldn’t help but love him, his positivity and joy for life was contagious. I learned so much from this little guy, his happiness in the small things reminded me that being happy is a choice and he made his choice to be happy every day despite his circumstances. His strength is admirable and unmatched by anyone I’ve ever met. To me he is and always will be the brightest little star. Mason you touched so many lives and had no idea that you brought so many others joy by just being you. “You my nurse?” “You staying?” “Why you go bye bye?” I will miss your smiles and our talks about paw patrol and what I’m going to eat! Mason you will forever hold a special place in my heart and I’ll never forget the way you made me feel every time I was at work and got to see you. Now it’s time you can finally rest and play pain free. Rest easy sweet boy.

At John 5:28 & 29 Jesus promises us, “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life…” God‘s word offers us so much comfort.
